TENNIS SECTION AGM
The Tennis Committee is holding its annual meeting Sunday March 26 in the clubhouse at 3pm.
The ALT’s team has got off to a good start this season. The 1st match was at TC Fontenay and the Standard won 3-0.
This week the Standard played at the SAC against AS Meudon and won 3-0 again.
The next match is at the end of March at TC Sèvres.
The Season is Over…. Team spirit was awesome. People came out despite late plane arrivals, injuries, last minute calls. Sportsmanship was stellar.
Dinners were welcomed and delicious. Beer and laughter flowed. And of course, the quality of squash matches was very high. We’re a strong team and deserve to pat ourselves on the back.
The SAC boys were up to the task chez eux on 16th March.
Christian got on first against Xavier and took it to him. After a slowish start, it went fast afterwards. 3-0 victory
Sean had a pretty similar start and unfortunately lost the first game in a close one. From then on, he turned on the jets and there was no looking back. 3-1
JP had the battle of the night. I did not see the match so hard to give colour commentary but it ended in a 14-12 finish in the 5th game. JP………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………lost :(
David was David again. He crushed his man and was never in any danger. 3-0
Greg unfortunately did not play because of a miscommunication. Montreuil showed up with only 4 players. Christian and Greg got a match in, however. 3-0 Christian ;)
Everyone enjoyed some good food and beer.
The regular season is over and we ended up in second place. That means we head for the barrage. We will need to play in a round robin against the second place teams in Pools A, B and C. If that goes well and we end up in first place, then we need to play the loser of the barrage in the second division. Depending on how that goes, we will either stay in division 3 or move up to 2nd division. More on that later.
Anyway, bravo everyone for a great season!

This is a final reminder about Tuesday's dinner and evening tournament. For dinner our cook will be preparing: vegetable soup, fillet of fish with a white-wine sauce and basmati rice, lemon tart and fresh cream. Last month's two winning pairs will be defending their title/reputation and we shall all be there to try and take their place.
We again had an excellent turnout at our workshop last Friday and you can see the results of the mini tournament here. Please note the date of next month's workshop which will probably be on Friday 28th April - subject to confirmation.
