On Friday night a T20 match was played, with the MCC batting first and posting a challenging 157 despite the wet outfield. Good bowling from all, with Thodi Andersson the pick of the bowlers. Former SAC player Charlie Speller made a very nice 60 for the MCC. In reply, good efforts from Abhishek Gulati and Nisseem Burkule got SAC close, but we fell away at the end to finish on 132.
The evening concluded with a BBQ dinner at the club.
A damp start on Saturday morning saw the planned full-day declaration match shortened to a 30 over per side match. MCC batted first making 180 off their 30 overs. A good bowling effort once again by all, especially Mahadi Hasan who took two wickets. SAC's fielding was not quite at its best with a few missed catches; the exception being Ian Hellawell's excellent one handed grab. In reply, Stephen Byng and Jon Riches both batted excellently for 50s, but after their dismissals runs became harder to find. 20 were needed off the last over, and this proved 10 too many. Another close match, but another win for the MCC.
An excellent dinner was held in Paris with the tourists to celebrate their win.
