A win and a loss
On Saturday SAC played Mantes la Joly. SAC won the toss and posted 222, the final wicket falling in the last of our 40 overs. The returning Dan Erith top scored with an excellent 54, Haq made 40 and Mansoor 25. Two early wickets In response put Mantes la Joly under pressure, but they kept up with the run rate despite losing wickets, and won seven down with five overs to spare. Best of the bowlers for SAC was Mansoor with two wickets.
On Sunday SAC played Aulnay, with SAC again winning the toss and batting first. New member Mobashar made 45 on debut, and Alastair Thomas anchored the innings with 44. Good contributions from Mansoor (25), Matt Curtain (20) and Haq (21 not out) got SAC through to 207 for 8 off our 40 overs. Haq then produced an outstanding bowling display taking 4-23 in his six over opening spell to leave Aulnay in trouble. They never recovered, with Mahadi Hasan (2 wickets) and Praneeth Kumar (3 wickets) running through the lower order. Aulnay all out for 90 and a big win for SAC.
