A sun-day it wasn't, but the brave tennis players who took on the elements for Sunday's Tennis Day were amply rewarded.
First, we managed several matches of ladies, mixed and men's doubles, despite the distinctly damp playing conditions.
Fearsome forehands from Jane and Fenella, devastating lobs from Sophia and Georgina, fiery services from Hugo and William, pulverising passing shots from Eric and Caroline were just some of the highlights, to say nothing of crafty Claudio's net play.
Secondly, there was a well-deserved brunch, particularly for those who had voted before coming up to the club.
And thirdly, there was Tracey-Lee's stunning tennis-court cake with mouth-watering cupcakes to go with.
If you missed this Sunday's tennis fiesta, fear not.
