Roncemay Weekend - 22-24 September
24 golfers have just returned from a most enjoyable 3-day weekend at Roncemay which is situated in the heart of Chablis country. The start of our Saturday competition, where we traditionally compete for the Kiwi Cup and Dean Trophy, was delayed for over an hour by thick fog. However, the sun and warm temperatures finally prevailed. It has to be said that the golf course also got the better of most of the golfers. Bertrand Delacroix won the men’s event and the Kiwi Cup (best net score by a Golf Section Member) with Colin Masterson, Frédéric Thiriet and Rafik Tagher taking 2nd, 3rd and 4th places respectively. Naomi Moore, Jenny Pratt, Jeanne Delacroix and Terri Delage were the prizewinners in the Ladies’ event. The Dean Trophy (for the best all comers gross score) was retained by Caroline Icart.
The Sunday fun team event was won by Caroline Icart, Sharon Masterson & John Greenwood with a staggering 55 points.
Many thanks to James Moore for having organized such a successful event. The section’s next outing – April 20th to April 22nd is to Omaha Beach.
Our next event is the Autumn Vase. This will be held on Sunday, October 15th at Villarceaux. If you are not a member of the Golf Section but would like to know more about the event and/or play in this competition, please contact
We will be hosting a Golf Dinner and prize giving at Meudon on Friday, October 20th.
Unfortunately, although some considerable interest was shown in participating in the second golf initiation session at Villarceaux on September 16th, nobody could actually come along. Obviously, these opportunities and dates are hard to find due to the availability of the pros but we will try to find another occasion sooner rather than later. So “watch this space”.
