A Better-Late-Than-Never Update!

A big thank you to all those who took part in this year's tennis tournament, blessed by fine weather and with some exciting matches. Special thanks to Tracey-Lee Jacquot who organised this year's tournament and her hard work getting as many matches played as we could in a tight timetable.

Exceptionally, some matches were played after finals day:

Anne Varin and William Vicarini triumphed over Phoebe and Gerald Strouts in the Mixed Doubles final, winning 6-2, 6-0.

Matthew Curtin beat Gerald Strouts in the Men's Amateur Singles final, winning 6-4, 6-2.

On finals day, we were treated to two thrilling matches:

Alexandre Marois beat Jean Cothier 6-4, 7-6 in a closely fought Boy's final.

Melvyn Cooke and Mikael Jayet staged a remarkable comeback to win the Men's Doubles final, winning the final set 7-5. Benjamin and William Sharp were the runners-up.

While other finals had been played beforehand:

The Ladies Singles champion this year is Pauline Rostand, with Fanny Boudignon the runner-up.

The Ladies Doubles champions are Romana Schaefer and Sally Cangardel. Runners-up: Anne Varin and Virginie Perronet.

In the Children's 13-years to 15-years category, Vassili de Rosen won by default.

We weren't able to complete the Men's "professional" draw.

Thanks again to all those who took part and wishing you all plenty of tennis throughout the rest of the summer.

The SAC tennis committee.
