The SAC Juniors hosted a British School of Paris XI on Saturday morning, a game where they scored more than the opposition, but still lost.
BSP scored 56 runs off the bat in their twenty overs, with Logan and Oliver in particular bowling tight, wicket to wicket spells. But with their teammates being unable to match their accuracy, and with wides counting for two runs in this grade of cricket, the BSP total swelled to 123.
In reply, SAC started well thanks to Miles (17, retired) and Benoit putting on 25 for the first wicket in no time at all. But a mid-innings wobble against the impressive Najeeb, who clean bowled two batsmen in one over, put the skids under the chase. With captain Joe unable to bat after having injured his side while bowling, the later batsmen got SAC to within 13 runs of the target before the overs ran out. A big thank you to the BSP for making the trip, and to John Hardy for organising it, and to the senior players, who very kindly delayed the start of their match so that the kids could finish theirs.
