Junior Football: British School vs SAC - Honours shared in return match.

The British Junior School was the welcoming host of SAC’s U-11 and U-13 teams on Saturday 6th April, with two contrasting matches. Our youngest lads battled hard but were outclassed by a stronger team on the day. SAC lost 7-0 despite valiant efforts in attack by Liam Mandy and in midfield by Henry Marchadier and Jules Moreau. Honourable mentions too to Alex Lavigne Amor, Jules Maurey, Arthur Wallich-Petit, Augustin Thieullent and Aurelien Loyer. After a controversial first goal - where was the VAR? - the match proved sweet revenge for the British School after two successive defeats at SAC.

The U-13s kept up the season’s winning streak though it was again a close-run victory, 3-2, against the hosts. They scored first but then found that the fast artificial surface was very much to the liking of Victor Moreau who fired in two cracking goals to give SAC the lead. With Gabriel de la Taille and Luc Wisman bustling in midfield, Tristan De L’Hermite looking dangerous up front, it was Sam Mangasarian who provided a third goal before the British School struck back to make it 3-2. The SAC goal line was now under intense pressure. Typically athletic goalkeeping by Rhys Parkin and the woodwork kept a number of good shots out before energetic defence by Alexander Curtin, Eliot Strouts, Thomas Colet and Logan Mandy, with Sam helping out from midfield, steadied the SAC ship.

A big thanks to our hosts and most welcome coffee and doughnuts after the match. We looking forward to playing the British School again next season. We have a final match for the juniors, away against Vesinet next month - full details to come.
