Coronavirus: COVID-19 latest

The AGM planned for Sunday 4 October at 3 pm has been postponed for Health and Safety reasons

In accordance with the most recent government declarations, from Monday 28 September the bar will close at 10 pm every evening and the Gym Room and Squash Courts will remain closed for a period of two weeks. Contact the Step/pilates and Yoga coaches for information about their classes.
The marquee will not be available from Monday. In the grounds, gatherings should be of fewer than 10 people (including children).
Masks are compulsory both Inside the clubhouse and on the grounds.
Keep your distance, wear a mask, wash your hands…
Be safe.

Bridge News - 22nd March

Last night we held the first of the Bridge for Beginners series of lessons (the next one is exceptionally on Tuesday 26th). Note the Workshop on Friday 29th March with the subject of Forcing 3rd suit (3me couleur forcing). Please sign up with Claude Jacques if you haven't already done so.

Golf News - Section Competition - 23rd March

Scramble "à la française" results: the team of Sue Hall, Bertrand Delacroix and Claude Jacques came out ahead in a very close contest, the first 3 teams within one point of each other.

Snooker Tournament News - 27th February 2019

In the Open Singles, Thomas Lavigne beat Lucien Jourdan in a three frame battle, he will meet Anthony Parker in the next round. In the Open DoublesThomas and Simon Lavigne won against Lucien Jourdan and Jean-Paul Ruzé in two straight frames, they are set to play Andrew Taylor and Roland Tchertoff in the next round.

Snooker Tournament News - 14th March

In the Open Singles, Hugo Marrison won his match against David Colson in a three frame battle and qualified for the semis, while James Webb and Emmanuel Bertrand and Antony Parker are set to play their matches soon. In the Open Doubles, Thomas and Simon Lavigne are due to play Andrew Taylor and Roland Tchertoff this Sunday.

Snooker Tournament News 13th February, 2019

In the Open Singles, Paul Willey beat son Joris to move into the semis, where he will meet the winner of David Colson and Hugo Marrison's quarter-final. The Willeys were also busy in the Doubles, beating Simon and Hugo Marrison and will meet Dougie Anderson and Emmanuel Bertrand in the semis. 

Football News - Sunday 17th February

Last Sunday the Adult Football team lost 3-6 playing against Ludovic Cohen's team. SAC goal scorers were Paul Bowyer, Declan Thiriet and Vassili de Rosen. We next play the British School on the 10th of March.

Golf News - Section Competition - 9th February

The Section played a "3 Clubs and a Putter" Stableford competition on Saturday, 9th February at Villarceaux in fine weather for the season! Sue Hall won the Ladies' and Frédérick Thiriet the Men's, both with 32 points, very commendable for the formula. Read on for full (revised) results.

Golf News - Stableford Competition - 6 June 2020 - Results

The Section celebrated the 'Déconfinement' with a Stableford competition on Saturday, 6th June at Villarceaux. Jeanne Delacroix won the Ladies with 34 points, but like Lupins (cf Monty Python), the ladies were all in a bunch.  Frédérick Thiriet showed true section leadership by running away with the Men's prize from David Colson (42 points vs 38); others also played.

Bridge News - February 5th Tournament

Warmest congratulations to Guy and Didier, 1st in NS with 63.75%, and to Sally and Pat, 1st in EW with 56.67%. 2nd in NS - Joyce and Claude with 56.25% and in EW Nicole and Jane with 55.42%. 

Football News - 6th February

Last Sunday, 3rd Feb, our Sunday footballers beat FIFFA 2-1; goal scorers were Ignacio Aguirre and Mikael Jayet. Next Sunday - Les Italiens. 

Snooker Tournament News 5th February, 2019

In the Open Singles, David Colson and Roland Tchertoff both won their matches to move into the quarter-finals. In Open Doubles, Dougie Anderson and Emmanuel Bertrand beat James Moore and James Webb. There are two first-round matches yet to be played. 

Golf News - January 30th

A last reminder to all who would like to participate in the Golf Weekend outing to Dieppe on 26-28th April to please fill in the registration form and send it to Frédéric Thiriet as soon as possible. See this article for the form.

Football News - Sunday 27th January vs Kerala Tuskers

On Sunday 27th the SAC adult football team played the Kerala Tuskers, a group of very friendly cricketers and footballers. 

We won 10-1 (SAC goalscorers were: Harald Auss, Paul Bowyer, Mikael Jayet, Alfred Auboyneau, and Virgile Noli). Next Sunday - FIFFA.
