The Tuskers won the toss and elected to bat, with wickets falling steadily but a good run rate. The highlights of their innings being a great catch from John Hardy at followed up by one of the most excellent cricket catches you could ever hope to see; our Rich Parkin, claiming injury so he couldn't bowl but spent the day at first slip, diving up and high and back behind the keeper to his left, way beyond what a goal-keeper could achieve, to snaffle it one handed. Some catch!
As ever Niseem, Jyothy and John Hardy delivered good spells and Denny Xavier was impressive in his first outing. The opposition put on a bit of a flurry at the end to be all out for solid 203, with some good hitting and a little sloppy bowling at the end.
In reply, the SAC AthletsSAC chased well but a slow start and some disciplined bowling and deep-set fields meant we were always a bit behind the 8-ball ... and that's how it would finish SAC falling a dozen runs short for a disappointing loss. The Tuskers were overjoyed, it was their first win over the Athletes in five close fought games.
The great guys from the Tuskers then joined us on the balcony for the customary jovial drinks and it was resolved to formalise the rivalry with a trophy for the next match.
