On Sunday SAC played LFP CC in a 40-over match. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing day, with the team putting in arguably its worst performance in several years...

SAC batted first, but lost wickets regularly to poor shots, and it was only thanks to 40 from Tariq that we managed to make it to the underwhelming total of 128. But even that poor score would have been sufficient if we had taken half the opportunities we were presented with in the field. The bowlers all bowled well, particularly Dilip with 4 wickets, but the fielders let them down. Badly. We dropped at least seven catches (including one clanger by the captain at deep mid off), missed two easy run outs, and even the ground fielding was poor. LFP were eight down when they hit the winning runs, SAC having dropped the last of our chances the over before.

Thankfully we have a great chance to bounce back this coming weekend when we play Chateau de Thoiry CC away at Thoiry for the John Hardy Shield. Let’s bring home the Shield, lads!
