Tuesday 19 January 2021

Please note that the next Workshop is on Friday week (28 February), beginning at 10.30. We shall again be playing a BCSH "Souplesse" tournament, the theme of which is the Landy convention - but just the 2 Club bid promising 5-5 or 5-4 in the majors and used after a 1NT opening by the opponent. To start off, we shall be giving a very short lesson revising this convention (see the attached Quiz) and then move on to the tournament at 11.15. We shall have lunch, probably around 1.15 or 1.30 pm and, for those who would like to stay on, a little supervised play in the afternoon.

On next dinner/tournament is on Tuesday 4 March and we can, if no-one has any objection, again use a simultaneous "souplesse" tournament, the theme of which will be "Reopening bids" ("Les Reveils" in French). (The quiz will be sent out as soon as it is available.)

So please sign up for one or both of the above, to Claude and/or Anne, if you would like to participate, indicating for the evening tournament if you are looking for a partner.
