Squash 14th February - Team 1 played neighbours Chaville away and won 3/2. But another tough night for Team 2 at home; with only 4 players they lost 5/0 against St Cloud.
What's been going on
Last Sunday the adult Footballers played against Les Italiens, but unfortunately lost 4-5 in a high-scoring game.
The Snooker Tournament is progressing slowly but surely. In the Open Singles, Paul Willey beat son Joris to move into the semis, where he will meet the winner of David Colson and Hugo Marrison's quarter-final. The Willeys were also busy in the Doubles, beating Simon and Hugo Marrison and will meet Dougie Anderson and Emmanuel Bertrand in the semis.
The Golf Section had a nice day for their first competition of the year at Villarceax on Saturday 9th, "3 Clubs and a Putter" Stableford competition. Sue Hall won the Ladies' and Frédérick Thiriet the Men's, both with 32 points.
The Bridge Section has two teams in the FFB Interclub competition and we are delighted to report that they are progressing well in their respective Divisions.
The Club's drainage systems are now all joined up and working! The entrance to the Club will be restored over the next couple of weeks to make it attractive again.
What's coming this weekend and after
Note that there's a Bridge Workshop today, Friday the 15th where they'll be busy plotting their way to 3 No Trump contracts.
Yoga is still running on full schedule until the school hols. Pam's last Fitness classes for this session are on Wednesday 20th; some classes may be offered during the hols depending on demand. Get in touch with Pam.
The Centenary Oak continues with a full weekend food offering starting on Saturday with croissants at 11 followed by lunch with Blanquette de veau and rice or Vegetable quiche and salad and on Sunday the Brunch special will be Sliced roasted Pork and prunes served with rice or steamed potatoes.
On Sunday morning the Footballers will be in action against 'Ludovic Cohen's team' (the last game was cancelled because of snow)..
Ladies Tennis: we are enrolling the 2019 ALT’s and Raquettes teams this month. If you are interested in playing in either team please get in touch with Sally Cangardel or Marie de Tilly (ALT’s) or Gigi Cothier (Raquettes) for further information.
With the school holidays looming have you signed them up for a session at the Squash Camp?

Bridge Lessons
Jenny Pratt is investigating the possibility of organising an initial series of lessons for complete or near-complete beginners. She would need to know how many people would be interested and what their availability would be - probably early evening from, say, 6.30/7 pm to 9 pm would suit both those who work as well as those who do not. The current rate for bridge lessons is approx. €130 for 10 lessons. If you are interested, would you please get in touch with Jenny on .
The Search is still on for a volunteer Newsletter Editor!
The Club Management is looking for a News Editor whose responsibility is to compile the weekly newsletter from the input provided by Management, Staff, the Section heads and members. The News Editor should be fluent in English, preferably a native speaker. The time commitment needed is a few hours a week. The management would hope for a long-term commitment to the post from the volunteer. Please contact Matthew Curtin () if you're interested.

The Section played a "3 Clubs and a Putter" Stableford competition on Saturday, 9th February at Villarceaux in fine weather for the season! Sue Hall won the Ladies' and Frédérick Thiriet the Men's, both with 32 points, very commendable for the formula. Read on for full (revised) results.

Saturday: Croissants & Pains au chocolat. Lunch: Ham or cheese and salad sandwiches. ham and cheese, tomato and mozzarella paninis; vegetable soup; Blanquette de veau and rice, Vegetable quiche and salad. Sunday Brunch: All the usual plus Sliced roasted Pork and prunes served with rice or steamed potatoes.

St Patrick's Celebratory Evening - Saturday 23rd March
A St. Patrick's Day celebration to be held at the club on 23rd March. We will have live Irish music, Irish dancing, food and much merriment.
