29th March 2019 News

What been happening

On Saturday, 12 Golfers gathered in 4 teams to compete in a Scramble à la française; only a single point separated the first 3 teams and after a 9-hole countback team Sue Hall, Bertrand Delacroix and Claude Jacques emerged as victors. (And this year the Golfers are going to play a Mixed Matchplay competition over the summer (see the link to the draw below), men and women playing together, with the twofold ambition of providing something interesting for the ladies and in the hope that the competition might end this year - last year's men's competition has yet to finish!)

Saturday evening also saw the end of the St Patrick's celebrations with a Caelí animated with live Irish music from the Lutecia Caelí Band.

Last Sunday, our Footballers had a bad day losing 7-0 to Los Pipos, while our Junior Cricketers played in an Indoor Tournament at Morangis.

Today there's a Bridge Workshop, with how to play a Forcing 3rd suit (3è couleur forcing) and our valiant Ladies Tennis AFT's team will take on AS Meudon.

What's coming soon

The Pilates and Step classes are continuing on schedule.

For Yoga, on this coming Saturday 30th and next Saturday 6th April, the teacher will be Rajeev, who is really good! Other classes will continue to be led by Monica.

Our Footballers are hoping for a change in fortunes when they take on the Kerala Tuskers this Sunday.

On Tuesday 2nd there's the Bridge Section's April Dinner/Tournament - sign up with Anne Raynaud and/or Jenny Pratt if you want to participate. (The meal starts with a tartare of aubergine, tomato, pepper and onion, followed by salmon risotto and then pear tart for dessert.)

On Saturday 6th our Junior Footballers take on the British School away.

And for those thinking ahead to the Easter holidays, it's not too early to think about the Tennis and Squash camps on offer.

Dates to watch

  • Tuesday 2nd - Bridge Dinner Tournament
  • Saturday 6th - Junior Football vs British School (away)
  • Friday 12th - Bridge Workshop
  • Week of 22nd to 26th - Junior Tennis Holiday Camp
