What's been happening
A week ago, last Friday was the last Bridge workshop. Then on Saturday, Golfers golfed (see the results below), the Tennis School had a party, Junior Cricketers had a game against LFP Morangis (see below), and the senior Cricketers played against Drancy CC. Then to round off Saturday there was the BBQ/ Campout.
On Sunday the senior Cricket side hosted a game against PUC and won. (See the link to the match report below.)
Every morning this week the Junior Squash players had a Squash Camp with coach Bassiby. (Today, Friday, is the last day.)
Also this Friday evening there is the Cambridge Society of Paris's Second Glory Days of Paris second lecture "The Philosophical Framework, Dadaism and Surrealism" at 7 pm. You should have signed up by Monday 24th if you had wanted to go.
This Friday morning there is a private event from 8 am to 2.30 pm involving 150 people in the marquee or on the playing field.
Don't forget that the invitation you will have received was extended to include a Guided Tour of the Destribats Collection at Christie's on the 2nd of July.
Cricket: there will be Lads vs Dads cricket match on Saturday morning, then the SAC Cricket section cordially invites one and all to welcome the Paris Cocks Aussie Rules Football Club for a Cricket and Barbie afternoon. All are welcome to the Barbie! Bring your own meat/salads/dessert and enjoy the atmosphere, washing it down with some Amber liquid (in moderation)!
The Queen’s Cup Open Squash Tournament takes place on this Saturday & Sunday.

Step and Pilates should continue until the 15th of July, but please confirm with Pam. Yoga classes will continue normally tomorrow and next week until the last class before the summer break, which will be on Saturday 6th at 2 o'clock.
Food this Saturday: Croissants & Pains au chocolat. Lunch: Sandwiches, Ham and cheese, tomato and mozzarella paninis; Salads of the day; Steak sandwich; Entrecote & fries.
You will have heard already that because of the low expected attendance that we have had to cancel the White Dinner planned for Saturday evening.
There will be No Sunday Brunch: because of the EGM, and similarly, there will be no Afternoon Tea.
The Queen's Cup Squash continues - finishing before the EGM!
And Cricketers will be entertaining Chantilly CC for a 40-over game.
But the main feature of Sunday the 30th must be the long-awaited EGM at which we're hoping for a full quorum.
Next week and beyond
On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings next week, a private event for 300 people will be occupying the main room in the clubhouse from 09:00 am - 12:30 pm and will be closed to all except attendees.
Included in the Cambridge Society of Paris's Second Glory Days of Paris invitation was a Guided Tour of the Destribats Collection at Christie's on Tuesday, 2nd of July. (Again you should have signed up by the 24th.)
And next Saturday the Golf Section will be holding its President's Cup an individual (Net) Stableford Competition, but also featuring a Putting Competition and the Nou Yai Cup for the best Ladies' gross score.
Remember that the Tennis School is accepting registrations for the next year (2019/2020) and for the Summer Tennis Camps in mid-July (8-12th and 15-19th) - sign-up deadline is Friday 5th July.
English Language Summer Camps: plenty of information pointed to in the article below. The camp dates are 8th – 12th, 15th – 19th, 22nd – 26th July and 26th – 30th August; hurry as places are filling up fast!

As the Club gets busier and busier it is increasingly important that the Club's facilities be shared by all members for their mutual enjoyment. Members are kindly asked to follow a few basic “housekeeping” rules and general etiquette. Please read them here.
The Search is still on for a volunteer Newsletter Editor!
The Club Management is looking for a News Editor whose responsibility is to compile the weekly newsletter from the input provided by Management, Staff, the Section heads and members. The News Editor should be fluent in English, preferably a native speaker. The time commitment needed is a few hours a week. The management would hope for a long-term commitment to the post from the volunteer. Please contact Matthew Curtin () if you're interested.

The SAC's annual Tennis Tournament will come to a close on Saturday 29th June. While the Family, Ladies' and Mixed Doubles Finals have already been played, the Men's Singles and Doubles, the Ladies' Singles, Teens' Singles and Childrens' Singles Finals are due to be played on Saturday.
The Squash Section's annual Queen's Cup Open Competition takes place this weekend over Saturday and Sunday. Do come and watch!
The SAC Cricket Section cordially invites one and all to welcome the Paris Cocks Australian Football Club for a T20 Cricket game + Barbecue on Saturday 29th June. As for the recent South African Bring and Braai, bring your own Meat/Salads/Desserts for a typical Aussie Barbie! This will be accompanied by all the trimmings including lashings of Amber Fluid!
Last Saturday (22nd) the SAC U16s hosted LFP Morangis and the teams tied on the last ball! This Saturday marks the end of the first half of the Junior Cricket season and features the Parents vs Kids (U11s) and Lads vs Dads (U16s) matches.
Results Mixed Stableford Competition: 1st - David Colson (38 points); 2nd - Emile Freiha (38), 3rd - Sue Hall (33).
On Sunday 23rd June the SAC took on PUC in a 40-over game at home with the SAC coming out on top.
Pam is available until mid-July, so classes should continue until then, provided there are enough takers. Please continue to stay in touch with Pam () and look out for her messages.

The new programme and conditions for the Tennis School for 2019/2020 have been published. Note also the dates of the Summer Camps - 8th-12th July and 15th-19th July for 4-17 year-olds - please up before 5th July.
This summer the SAC will be organising, in partnership with SSWP (Speaking and Sports With Pascal), a series of English Language Summer Camps. Dates: 8-12th, 15-19th, 22- 26th July and 26-30th August. These Camps are open to members and non-members alike.
