Eric Lacey (83), RIP

We are sad to announce that Eric Lacey (12/10/1938-12/01/2022) died on Wednesday morning after a long illness. Eric was a long-time member of the Club and participated in many activities, including lots of football, tennis, golf, and bridge. Eric really cherished his membership of the Club and the many dear friendships he made there. He was on the Golf committee for several years and also captained one of the Bridge section's Interclub teams.
Eric is survived by his wife Elisabeth, to whom we offer our sincere condolences.
His cremation will take place at 10h30 on Wednesday, January the 19th at the Crematorium de Joigny, boulevard Lesire Lacam, 89300 Joigny. (No flowers, please.)

Miriam Hodges (22.02.1942 Slovenia - 26.09.2021 Biarritz) RIP

Ken Hodges is sad to announce the death of his wife Miriam, aged 79. She was struck down by a debilitating illness but died peacefully in her sleep.
Miriam was a long-standing SAC member, enjoying the fresh air of the forest and always feeding the birds. She was a keen tennis player and swimmer. A long time ago she adopted the SAC stray cat.
Her other activities included writing a book on Slovenian women authors, which remained unpublished because of political events in Slovenia. She loved the theatre, the subject of her doctorate.
Her tennis partners will miss her.

Yvette Halen-Devos (6/5/1929 - 4/2/2021) - RIP

We are sorry to announce the passing of Yvette Devos, a long-time member of the Club, on Thursday 4 February 2021 in her 92nd year. Our deepest sympathy goes to her children, Pierre and Carine and grand-children, Charline, Corentine, Alexandre and Juliette.
