We are writing to you after the decision by Roger Porsolt to resign as President of the SAC on Sunday.
First, we would like to thank Roger for his dedicated work in the past three years.
Second, as the Club’s Vice-Presidents, we are taking on his responsibilities only on a temporary basis until such time as we can hold an AGM. It is for members at the AGM to elect a new president and other officers of the Club.
In the meantime, we and the rest of the Management Committee will be seeking help from members for specific tasks to ensure we get through the difficult circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic. The MC will update members on this shortly.
Roger, as President, our Treasurer Edwin Colombina and accountant Sylvie Goujon have done excellent work to stabilise the Club’s short-term finances. We are also on course to transforming the operating-cost base of the club. But there is plenty more work to be done to ensure the SAC is fully operational again within the constraints of the healthcare crisis. Our latest newsletter details what is underway regarding the tennis courts, swimming pool, squash courts, and the grounds in general.
At our regular MC meeting later this Monday, we will decide on a date for holding a video-based members information meeting, given the still strict social-distancing rules preventing us from fully opening up the club itself.
