MC News
The Management Committee met on Tuesday evening (7 Dec).
Highlights of the discussions/decisions:
- Update on the lift repair — the maintenance company has been put on notice that we are beginning legal action and has committed to get the lift working this week.
- Some Members have requested that the Club stay open over the holidays — after long discussions, it was decided that we cannot open in a way that ensures Covid safety while our staff is on holiday.
- Groundcare equipment — the field mower broke some months ago. Our staff have been mowing the field with the small ride-on, which quadruples labour requirements and will ruin the machine. A solution is required before the spring. The MC voted to lease replacement machinery, at a cost of ~€650 a month, from February.
- Recently cleared zone in the corner of our grounds (where we burn the bonfire). This zone was recently cleared of tons of rubbish and dead trees. The MC approved a budget of up to 1500€ for replacement saplings and wildflower plantings to be completed this winter.
- Reinforced Covid protocols were approved for this weekend’s activities.
The Lift
Nothing has been more frustrating than the fact that our lift has been broken since 2019 and rarely functioning since 2015. After more phone calls and maintenance visits than we care to recall, we are delighted to announce that the lift is now back in service for those that need some help to move between floors. The Management Team would like to record its gratitude to Emile Freiha for his relentless and determined efforts to advance this issue. We will need to do more to ensure it keeps working — for now we are pleased to announce that all Members may access the Queen’s Room and the bar. Please download this video to see the lift in operation!
COVID
Please note that on entry to the club members and guests over 12 years old are required to show a valid « Pass Sanitaire » (or negative PCR ar antigen test less than 24 hours old) and masks must be worn inside the Club at all times.

Our club boasts one of the best natural-grass football fields in the Paris region. There are few better moments than walking out onto the turf, dew on the grass, mist in the air, autumn leaves on the trees, the sun creeping over the forest on a Sunday morning just before one of our regular friendly Sunday matches. But we need more players! So it is time for members to dust off their inner Lionel Messi and Harry Kane and get in touch with section head Laurent Brault () about representing the SAC at Football. We may no longer have much ambition to repeat our French championship league victory of 1894, but our opponents are friendly, the showers are hot, new beers are in at the bar and logs are on the fire. Come play the beautiful game!
Note: We have a match this Sunday 5 December (kick-off of 10:30) and there will be an all-members friendly football tournament on Sunday 12 December (registration 10:30.)

The duties include checking in members (and guests) and, more importantly, checking their Pass Sanitaires as the Club is required to do. Please contact if you can possibly help. Thank you!
