MC News

The Management Committee has met twice in April, on the 5th and the 19th. Major areas covered:

Repeated updates to ensure that the new courts 1 and 2, plus the resurfacing of 4 and 5, are completed on time. This has now been achieved.
Preparations for pool opening (filling of pool, certification for opening). We expect to be able to open in early May, subject to the inspection.
Cécilia Amor Mahia and Caroline Ritoux kindly completed and presented a full diagnostic of the causes of the leak in the squash courts. Based on this the MC approved a budget of up to 4000€ to fix the root causes (sealing, gutters and downspouts). A second phase of work should fix the gradient and degraded surface of the basketball courts and will be brought to June’s AGM for approval.
Approval of an event to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee on June the 5th, organised jointly with the British Community Committee of France.

Censor/Honorary Auditor

John Greenwood has performed this role in an honorary capacity for many years. John will be stepping back after the completion of the 2021 Accounts, with the thanks of many Management Committees and Members over the years.
We are therefore seeking a new Censor/Honorary Auditor to replace him.
The prime responsibility is to audit the Club’s Annual Accounts, prepared by Management according to UK Accounting Rules (UK GAAP) and to express an independent opinion to the Members as to their validity. The Censor also provides his/her advice to Management on control and governance issues as required.

Cricket News: First weekend of the new season

The new season opens this weekend with two matches.
First is a match against the British Embassy CC on Saturday the 30 starting at 12:30. Then on Sunday 1 May, the SACC plays St Brice CC starting at 11.

Football News - Season's closing match vs VSCI

On Sunday 24. April, the adult football team played its last game of the competitive season.
We played Vésinet Sport Club International (VSCI) and it was a beautiful football game.
After trailing 0-2 at half-time, we ended the game with a 3-3 draw.

In May and June, football at SAC will keep going. We will hold training sessions on Sundays from 9:45 to 11:00. Juniors are welcome and it is extremely fun when parents and kids are playing together. Please email if you would like more info.

Cricket News: We are looking for new players; join us on Sat 7 May for a trial T20 senior game

The SAC Cricket Section is looking for new players for its junior and senior 2022 campaigns!
Come and join us for a trial T20 senior game on Saturday 7th May from noon!
With access to one of France’s finest cricket fields, we organise fixtures most weekends from the beginning of May until the end of September.
We are active tourists, having recently returned from a senior tournament in Spain and we will be touring Kent from 1st – 5th June.

Tennis News - The clay courts are now open

The clay courts are now open. (See the pictures in the main article.)
The reworking of Courts 1 and 2 was done by our new supplier SLTE, and special thanks are due to Philippe Ayme-Jouve for helping the MC with this project.
And maybe also a gentle reminder of our tennis rules (see below).

Pam will be offering classes on a holiday schedule next week until May the 2nd. She will not be giving classes until they resume on Wednesday, 11 May.

Junior Cricket: The 2022 Season starts on 7 May 2022

Yes, the waiting is over! We are starting on the 7th of May. The U16 are starting their first France Cricket competition matches with PUC and PFC Sarcelles.
At the same time, we have the session starting with others at our SAC Meudon ground. Our senior cricket member Jyothi will conduct the 7 May session.

Golf News: Spring Weekend at Wimereux (30/4-2/5)

Golfers are off to Wimereux Golf Club for their Spring Weekend.

Marquee

The exterior of the marquee has been refreshed this spring
- New white gravel at the entrance
- Replacement of the decaying wooden flooring at the entrance.
The marquee is now ready to welcome external events during the workweek and the space can also be rented at the weekend.
