Tuesday 1 February
The Club welcomed 2 new Members this week, both from the U.K.
The Management Committee discussed the plan for pool renovation, led by VP Gerald Strouts and Vincent Bales. The first phase was completed in 2021, with the replacement of the pool heating system. As a next step, we will prepare a tender document for the phasing of the various work (pool cover, filtration system, structural renovation, and new liner). The next phase of work will focus on increasing the capacity of our water filtration system in line with the latest standards, together with a cover for energy efficiency.
Help Wanted for the Front Desk at Weekends!

We need volunteers to help look after the front desk on Saturdays and Sundays! Hours are between 10 am and 5 pm, for at least one hour, please. The duties include checking in members (and guests) and, more importantly, checking their Pass Vaccinals and Sanitaires as the Club is required to do. Please contact if you can possibly help and we'll add you to our WhatsApp helpers group. Thank you!

The club’s footballers are set for a tough grudge match this Sunday against the Kerala Tuskers after an intensive training regime over the past two weekends. With Covid-19 laying waste to our scheduled opponents’ ability to field full teams, SAC played two highly competitive in-house matches in contrasting weather, with last Sunday’s game in mercifully spring-like conditions. Click for photo (opens in new tab) Our teenagers – among them Alexander, Elias, Lucien, and Rhys – are gaining in confidence and experience. Joseph is showing off his all-field skills. Taha is back to his best form. Rich “you’ll never get it past me” Parkin was put through his paces last Sunday and kept a clean sheet in goal. Henry is unflappable. Gerald remains indefatigably indefatigable. Ignacio’s right boot looks as dangerous as ever…
For any adults and teenagers still hesitating about donning the famous SAC red and black, please get in touch with Laurent Brault at about playing. Sunday’s match is as usual 10:00 at the ground for 10:30 kick-off. Read More

As you may already have seen, all Club members are now requested to wear a mask inside and outside the Club except to practice sport or coaching. Though snooker is considered a sport, it is practised among other members inside the Clubhouse and therefore if you do play a game, you must keep wearing your mask. We are well aware that these are not the ideal conditions for playing tournament matches and so we have decided to put the Tournament on a hold for the moment.
(For anyone interested in how snooker used to be played, this video might be instructive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37JAQIiUEOE.)

The Club is well advanced in the renewal of its tennis facilities: Court 3 in 2021; Courts 1 and 2 completely renewed this year, with 4 and 5 to follow in 2023. The work on Courts 1 and 2 is advancing well, overseen by our team of Philippe Ayme-Jouve, Raphael Kahane, Mikael Jayet, and Roland Tchertoff. The new courts will be ready for this season.
