Bootcamp

Open to all members from age 12 upwards, Chris Pollard's Bootcamp promises a good, invigorating workout on Saturday afternoons. Chris has been teaching Bootcamp style classes in Paris for over 20 years.

Bridge

The members of one of the Club's more relaxed sections, the Bridge Section, can be found battling it out on the lawns, under the trees, and even occasionally in the bridge room.

Chess

Shake up the “grey matter” come back to a game you might well have played in younger days. Join us and keep the brain active. Just contact any Section member (but after his game is finished!).

Cricket

Cricket in France began in the second half of the nineteenth century and started to become popular in the 1890s with a dozen or so teams. The SAC has had an active Cricket section since 1893, when the first publicly recorded matches took place (albeit with one of the SAC's rival football clubs).

Fitness

The Club offers  Step and Sculpt, Pilates, Bootcamp and Yoga sessions. It also has a fully equipped gym room.

Football

We'll soon be celebrating 130 years of football at the SAC. British engineers were working on erecting the Eiffel Tower for the great Exhibition in 1889/1890 and after work the young men would unwind with various sporting activities in the Bois de Boulogne, including football. Amongst these young Britons were the men who went on to found the Standard Athletic Club.

Golf

The SAC Golf Section has a lively following thanks in large part to the special membership relationship the Section has enjoyed for over 35 years with the Villarceaux Golf Club in the heart of the French Vexin, with wonderful scenery and a warm club atmosphere.

Snooker

The SAC has a full-sized table near the bar - handy for liquid and solid refreshments.

Before starting, you must buy a token at the bar for the light.

Children over 12 years old may play snooker but must be under adult supervision at all times.

The annual tournament takes place in every year, registration begins in Autumn. Don’t hesitate to talk to Roland if you wish to find an opponent to play against, at your level.

Squash

Squash at the SAC first started in 1962 when a block Membership for 30 SAC Members was negotiated at the Jeu de Paume.

In 1976 the SAC had its own Squash court built. A second court was inaugurated in 1990 in response to persistently strong demand from the membership.

Swimming

The club has an open-air, heated swimming pool, open approximately from April/early May until the end of September, depending on the weather. There is also a paddling pool for toddlers.

Tennis

The Club has 3 all-weather courts and 5 clay courts. Tennis tournaments are organised in the Spring.

Yoga Classes

Yoga can help you to be calmer in everyday situations, confront hardships with a clearer mind, help you persevere towards your goals, and simply, be happier.
